Do We Really Care About Pregnancy?

Last week on the occasion of World Contraception Day, I was developing a WhatsApp design. The agency actually mis-spelt the word preg(n)ancy.

I found this suitable for communication and the idea was to increase 'noticeability'. I forwarded the same design to 10 different people. Out of these 10, only one called me back and highlighted about the error. Nine of them, if at all they noticed, but did not highlighted the same.

I think, the same goes with 50% of the pregnancies in India. A study conducted by the Lancet, estimated 48·1 million pregnancies, a rate of 144·7 pregnancies per 1000 women aged 15–49 years, and a rate of 70·1 unintended pregnancies per 1000 women aged 15–49 years (https://www.thelancet.com/journals/langlo/article/PIIS2214-109X(17)30453-9/fulltext).

This calls for aggressive advocacy for the use of contraception to avoid un-intended pregnancies.
