Do We Ever Get a Break?

Do We Ever Get a Break?

So, clearly, we have created a system that is broken with regard to health in the US. When you look at the sad statistics around children and their mental wellbeing and then look at what adults are reporting about their work life mental health…will Americans (and others) ever get a rest? SHRM just recently put out statistics on workers and their mental health…think this backs up my point.?The numbers are not good and aren’t lying. For instance, ONLY 1 U.S. Worker in…

  • Only 1 in 3 U.S. workers?say their job has a positive impact on their mental health.
  • 1 in 3 U.S. workers say their job has had a negative impact on their mental health in the past six months.
  • Nearly 2 in 5 workers say their job stresses them out at least once a week.
  • 1 in 3 employees say their job makes them feel overwhelmed and anxious.
  • Among U.S. workers, 77% believe?employers have a responsibility to reduce mental health disparities at work.
  • Access to better mental health resources?could improve the mental health of 63% of workers.

Clearly it will be up to us to look out for ourselves when it comes to mental health, both inside and outside of the workplace. If you have read this far you probably have seen other posts on tips and ways to do that…if you want more just reach out personally and we can make it happen. Here it to positive mental health for ourselves, those we know and those we don’t.

All my best and much love!

Dave
