Do we deserve redemption without faith?!?

Do we deserve redemption without faith?!?

??"?

This week's Parsha encapsulates the era from when the children of Yaakov passed away - throughout the suffering, slavery and subjugation of their descendants' under the Egyptians – until HaShem sends Moshe to tell his people that the time of redemption has come.

But Moshe says to HaShem (Shemos – Exodus 4, 1):

???? ??? ????? ??? ?? ?????? ?? ??? ????? ???? ?? ????? ?? ???? ???? ?'

Moshe answered and said, "Behold they will not believe me, and they will not heed my voice, but they will say, 'The Lord has not appeared to you.' "

Why did Moshe make this claim that they will not believe in the message of redemption?

The Sefas Emes offers a fascinating answer, as follows:

?"? ?? ???? ????? ??' ???? ??? ?????? ??? ??????? ??? ??? ??"?. ?????? ????? ??' ???? ??? ???????. ???? ???? ???"? ????? ?????? ?? ?????? ?????? ????. (??"? ???"?)

It is known that the exile of Egypt is the source and root of all exiles, meaning every suffering of any Jew – collectively and individually – has been sourced back then in Egypt, furthermore, every redemption – physical, spiritual and emotional – are also originated of the redemption of Egypt.

Now, Moshe had in mind, for all these years, in the future, when the Jewish nation will be troubled and afflicted, and maybe some might lack trust and faith in G-D, so Moshe asked that they shall also be redeemed.

May we all merit immediate redemption!

Faith is a gift. And when did we ever deserve anything? ??
