I often wondered what is Life? I read an interesting quote on the web which said, life is all from B to D i.e. Birth to Death, but there is a C in it i.e. Choices we make.
This was a very powerful statement and probably the best definition of life that I ever came across.
I firmly believe that we create our own destiny! When we do something in our life with all our heart, passion and dedication, things do fall in place for us and we see things happening in our favour. Yes, that so true….every time I am reminded of the famous quote from the Bollywood Blockbuster Film, OM SHANTI OM…
“Itni shiddat se maine tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai ...ki har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai”
We make our own destiny, by the Choices we make in life. Yes, failures do come by, but as Shri APJ Abdul Kalam said….Failure is your first attempt at learning. Those who learn from their failures make it big in life.
The destiny that you create for yourself is the difference between, whether you learnt from your failures or not!
Most of us, when we fail always try to find a shoulder to put the blame on. For some its parents, the external conditions, no support from friends, GOD or finally their own destiny. We never really try to self-reflect on the causes what resulted in failure, and most of us stop at one or two failures in life making ourselves understand that I am not destined to achieve what I have dreamt off.
We often spend all our time in blaming all the factors that I have mentioned and we get completely stuck in our failures. We start believing in the fact that nothing good can happen to me and failure is my destiny and we end up Spending our Life and Not Living It. We often end up doing things just as a matter of survival and not because we really love what we do.
We must understand that success comes only through failures and GOD always wants us to fail before we achieve success, so that we value it and don’t become arrogant of what we have achieved in life. Here are a few real life examples….
Sachin Tendulkar played his first ODI in 1989 and it was only in 1994 after playing 79 matches he scored his first century. There were so many times he got out in his 80s and 90s before he played his first knock of 100 Runs
Amitabh Bachchan was rejected for his voice by All India Radio, which later went on to be arguably the world’s best baritone! It took him quite a few films before his first block buster in Bollywood.
Kishore Kumar one of the finest & versatile artist the Bollywood has ever seen also had a fair share of struggle in his days….He started his career by singing chorus for Bombay Talkies and did small roles in movies to remain in the industry. It was his never say die attitude and passion for films which made him arguably the greatest ever!
I am often reminded of what Thomas A. Edison said….
“I have not failed, I have just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”
“Many of Life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up”
Life is all about struggles & failures and the ability to learn from each one of them and come up stronger. Those who do, never blame their destiny but create one. As someone said, there are no shortcuts to success, the key to success is your hard work, the passion to succeed and emerge stronger every time you fail.
The world never criticizes people who have failed, but those who failed and gave up!!!
Those who don’t give up end up creating a destiny of their OWN and the rest is all HISTORY!!!
Always Remember.....The most successful people had started their careers with a failure in life, and what made them achieve their DREAMS inspite of failure are the following 6 MANTRAS:
- Make the Right Choices!
- Self-Belief, that nothing is impossible
- Self-Reflection every time they failed
- Never Say Die Attitude, kept on trying till they achieved success
- No fear of failure
- Passion & Focus
It’s time to stand up, deliver and create your OWN DESTINY !!!
