Do we assume that those who project happiness simply have better lives than those who do not?

In the spirit of the Memorial Day when we honor those who died while serving in the U.S. military, I am also reflecting on how we celebrate lives…What comes to mind, is that we usually celebrate life at the end of someone’s life…
Will you join me in taking a moment to celebrate people around us – acknowledge them now? While my invitation certainly relates to our personal relationships, I am actually specifically writing here about including people in our professional environment.
We have people around us that consistently move with appropriately positive attitude throughout the day, offer help to others, and you know you can rely on them. How often do we offer any gestures of gratitude? Or, are we taking our experience of working with them for granted?
I recently learned about personal challenges this kind of an employee has been experiencing for a long time… it made me pause and reflect on the power of their presence in the working environment.
How often do we celebrate strength, smiles, joy people share with others? Or, do we assume that those who project happiness simply have better lives than those that do not?
With warm gratitude to everyone reading this post and my colleagues and friends – I hope you know I notice you and will do my best to always be grateful.

3 年This is more than a great message, Olga. This is a movement in the making. Thank you for forging the narrative. There are lots of people to thank along my journey. You are prompting me to get a note out to someone I've long been thinking about thanking. And thank you for always being someone who provides real value and help in the marketplace.
