Easilink pilot to target accessible transport needs over Halloween and Christmas
Every year, the absence of adequate accessible transport makes the news as the one big reason people are missing out on all the wonderful things that go on over Halloween and Christmas
"When transport is not an issue, you would take for granted heading into fireworks, the switching on of the Christmas Lights, Christmas markets, festive meals, plays and get togethers, " said Claire Russell CEO Easilink
“These things tend to happen in the evenings and weekends, and we would like to be part of a solution that makes sure people with additional needs, including a need for accessible transport, get to where they would like to go,” explains Claire.
Easilink, has announced a new evening and weekend pilot, designed to connect the rural community of Omagh, Strabane and Foyle with some affordable, accessible transport over the winter months.
The pilot, a first for Easilink will be rolled out in time for Halloween and will have a number of services connecting rural areas to the main towns and villages and linking rural areas to big night outs”.

“The winter is long and can be lonely for those who cannot connect with their community, so now is your opportunity to join the celebrations and enjoy all the great things that are planned”
“Easilink intend to provide a small number of services at the evening and weekends, running transport services to specific events that passengers can book onto like the Christmas lights switch on and the Christmas Markets. We will also have a number of our accessible buses operating in certain areas which our members can book for their individual transport needs.”
“We look forward to working closely with both Derry City and Strabane District Council and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and various event organisers to create the transport links needed to ensure people are not left behind or left out this Christmas."
