DO NOT THROW YOUR HOMES CONTENTS TO THE CURB YET.

Many have never experienced this type of flood damage and before you take steps to throw everything out to the curb the most important thing if you have insurance is to take a inventory of your contents of your home. YOU NEED ALL SERIAL NUMBERS for your appliances, stoves, refrigerators, washer / dryer, water heater, dishwasher, furnace and a/c system, tv's, stereo equipment, computers, computer back ups, Taking and inventory of your material possession is probably one of the hardest things you will ever have to do so i would suggest you address it like a puzzle and go through one room at a time over a few days so it does not get overwhelming. If you still have a phone or computer there are many apps that can be helpful and what they call memory joggers to help you remember many items that you may have forgotten. Also you may have some pictures of your or your friends and family have some pictures.One free app i can think of is adjuster camera, but their are many others. I hope this is helpful.
