Hey guys, so i need a little bit of advice.. Im 21 and would like to Move from Utah to California and i figured i would be comfortable transitioning in about 2 yrs or even sooner if possible. At the moment i go to school and Ill be receiving my Associates degree next year ( by may at the latest). I had to take out school loans and am about 11500 in debt.. I also have an auto loan and i owe about 7500.00 on that. I work in an office and make about 23,000 a yr. K so my concern is this, i want to move with as little debt as possible, but i dont want to fall behind in school either.. Is it a good idea to make large payments ( i want to say 900-1000 a month ) on my auto loan and pay that off before i receive my associate and after, begin making large payments on my school loans until theyre paid off. and after thats paid off, move to California and begin on my bachelors there with no debt. Or should i pay my auto loan as i mentioned above and continue with school in Utah and then move to cali with a bachelors degree and the debt from school loans? I dont know which would be the best option? note that i will be moving without my family, so im doing this solo with a couple of close friends. So I have a 2010 Malibu LS I went to the dealership by myself, with no credit history, and no idea what I was doing. So I ended up getting pretty screwed. Payed 19k for the car along with a 17% APR and $498/mo payments. The car only KBB's for 11-12k in good condition. So I'm pretty upside down. I know it was stupid on my part, you don't have to tell me. But here's the thing. I'm getting out of the army in a month or so and I'm moving back home to my family farm. I need a 4x4. A Jeep or something. I have a credit score of 668 by paying on this loan for 2 years. I owe around 16k on it currently. I also just got a $4000 credit card from USAA.
