What are YOU going to do differently today?
"Cattle die and Kinsmen die
Thyself you too must die
But one thing will never die
The fame of one who has done well"
Taken from Havamal, an old Norse poem offering advice on living well.
I'm conscious that being a leader of people is a responsibility and that those who follow will inevitably take some things on simple trust that I am correct in my thinking and decisions. So, when you invest your time in being a leader, invest in the good stuff, it pays.
When you talk, do so with meaning. When you instruct, do so with humility,
What does it take to be a Good or even a Great Leader then?
First, seek out who you are, and explore yourself and your motivations. You might consider asking yourself a few questions, answer honestly.
Whatever it is that gets you excited is going to spill over in some way to how you behave when in a position of leadership. If your passions are not reflected in what you do for work, then you'll appear bored, fed-up, and disinterested. Maybe you need a change of scene perhaps?
Are you in the right business? Do you have a side hustle that's based on your interests?
Do you need to consider the possibility of how you might start your own start-up?
How will you know you have the fame of one who has done well?
