Do the right thing!
Last week saw many individuals, companies and organizations taking responsibility for themselves and people around them which was fantastic. We all know that the pandemic we face will likely get very much worse and its impact will be far reaching. Many businesses may not even survive its onslaught. However if we all respond to this threat immediately we can minimize the damage it could cause.
Here at Ross we started last week by cancelling our attendance at the NAB show, A difficult choice as we had as usual spent so much money, time and effort in preparation for the show. By the end of the week we had instituted a 'Work From Home First' policy for all locations globally and our IT folks stepped up to ensure we could operate with a large portion of our staff situated remotely. We have instituted mandatory temperature testing at building entrances for staff that need to be on premises and cancelled all visitor meetings.
We have modified our travel policies to ensure that only identified 'essential' travel is scheduled and are now scheduling mostly online meetings and product demonstrations.
This is not easy, these are draconian measures and will most likely limit our business. That said - people must come first. We should not expect our various Governments to create the necessary responses quickly, we should be active participants in preventing the spread of this disease. Let's all do whatever we can to ensure we are limiting the exposure of our staff, our customers, ourselves and all of our families to the risks of this outbreak.
Let's Do the Right Thing
Well said, Nigel. Well said!
Well said Nigel “do the right thing” says it all. in the past few weeks we have already seen too many people posting comments about it being a hoax or it’s only flu comments. In light of events they must be feeling pretty foolish right now!!!
