Do this one thing before you reduce employee turnover
I talk a lot about the importance of reducing employee turnover. After all, it averages out over $235,000 for one high-performing employee in your organization. But the one thing you must do before you reduce it, is quantify the total impact.
I ran across so many leaders in organizations. They're investing in recruiting dollars. They're investing in increasing their salaries and benefits and making all these changes but they haven't quantified the cost in the first place.
If you haven't quantified it, you can't really measure the impact very effectively of the changes you're making. So before you do it, quantify it first.
Now to help you with that, you can go to https://warfortheemployeemind.com/turnover/ and download my free cost of turnover calculator.
You walk through a few steps and in just a few minutes you'll be able to come up with your average cost of turnover and then go out there and start making the changes.
You'll be measuring it from a place with a baseline where you calculated the cost and will be able to measure the impact of the results you are getting.
