Do One Thing At a Time
I started to practice mindfulness recently. Its essence is about being aware and living in the moment. What does it mean? Or what did I do that distract me from being present 100%?
Fortunately, I realize multitasking is one of the distractions. I've been used to multitasking for years. However, according to the researches plus our personal experience, our human brain is not able to simultaneously handle multiple tasks (in most cases). If we do emphasize productivity, we shall do one thing at a time, only one thing.
Hers is my resolution. From now on, I will bring full attention to each of the conversations, including the teleconferences I choose to attend, especially the teleconferences I choose to attend.
What do you like to do to improve mindfulness?

4 年Thank you for posting this thoughtful question. For me multi-tasking means hurrying, worrying, doing one task while thinking about several others. It takes longer to produce an incomplete result, while feeling stress. I practice mindfulness by recognizing distractions and bringing my mind back to one subject. Another practice is to stop to focus on breathing for a few moments when I feel distracted. I take a moment to realize that I feel grateful for something, or glad that a job turned out well. I do these several times a day, but still am only at the beginning.
