Do my followers hear me ? Linkedin Hello

Do my followers hear me ? Linkedin Hello

LinkedIn is a brilliant social media platform.? But, is it really a social media platform ?

I am relatively very new to Linkedin.? I have had an account for a few years but never really used it.? I just got on with my own business and never really saw a need to bother other people with my ideas and thoughts.? Since I launched landcycle.com – a license free property and planning platform – I thought it might be a useful place to share my new creation and I have not been disappointed.

My journey started as a marketing pursuit, to promote my platform and it worked, many people from our wonderful planning and development industry have signed up – there are still some that have not and for the life of me I cant work out why, but that’s not the point of this post.

Having used Linkedin now quite thoroughly for the past few months I am flattered to have been followed by over two thousand people.? I don’t consider myself a ‘voice’ or worthy of attention, but I am utterly grateful that people seem to like what I write about and comment on.

I have learnt that Linkedin is a formidable place to connect and share ideas with like minded (or divided in some cases) people from within my industry.? That is so powerful on so many levels.? It’s a place to learn and share ideas, to rant or to simply share a photo of the dog, but principally its an amazing business to business ideas hub.

But then I started wondering.? Not only am I followed but I also follow a lot of people.? Some of whom have hundreds of thousands of followers.? If I make reference to them in a post do they really see me and what I am saying or do I just get lost in their enormous followers and post comments.

There are industry experts who reply to my posts like Charlie Banner (Lord Banner KC) (who has been spending time with bears recently) and Mark Fessey and sometimes Grant Westall-Reece but Matthew Spry seems slightly out of reach, perhaps I’m not engaging with him enough.? Same perhaps with Lindsey Richards FRTPI but James Mason is always an enthusiastic poster and often replies, thank you.?

Then there are the bigger ‘followed’ who are not necessarily in my industry circle but I just like to see the posts pop up; Tom Hunt , who it seems is always on the beach or drinking coffee but does kindly reply.

The next level up is John Caudwell or, Rishi Sunak and Gary Neville who did actually reply to me once and the great Richard Branson who I would never expect to hear from.

So my point is this.? Linkedin is a fantastic place to reach people who you would otherwise just never be able to reach or communicate with.

But I am still waiting for a like or comment from some of the top voices I have mentioned.? Lets see if they see this !!? Repost, add in your own followed at the bottom and share in the experiment.

Also hearing you and you mentioned James Mason, his posts crack me up, his one about controlling the weather, put a smile on my face. This is a great platform and we may not see every post (that would be overwhelming!) but a good variety which can be very insightful.
