Aren't we all filled with overwhelming expectancy in life?
The more we engage with our expectations more we realize that this is a bottomless pit! We are known for the concept of not expecting from others but not for the reality of expecting from ourselves. Aren't we all feel the same that most of the things in the explication list are from us.
"We expect someone to love us but isn't we expect to be loved, at first?"
Now we can think over this argument that life is all about expectations, but most of the time, we blame someone else, not us? If we are to blame,?we need to understand the root cause of these expectations!?
Our brain works with two basic faculties - Imaginations and memory.?
Similarly, expectations form two nature of their own - Future expectations & Present expectations.
Future expectation = Imagination?
Present expectation = Memory??
Our imagination towards ourselves leads to future expectations.
For example, "I want to be the most liked person by everyone around me!"?
When we set this nature of imagination inside us, our brain starts delegating unsaid responsibilities to others' heads to fulfill this task.?
Whether they know it or not but those people will be assigned a task in the future that is much more complex in its nature. Similarly, What we expect at the moment is caused by our memories.?
For example, "I will not lose my temper in these current circumstances!"
When we set this level of boundaries within, our brain starts forming guilt every time we lose our temper. In the past, we knew the consequences, which led us towards the same trajectory whenever we skipped doing anything that we thought we should or should not do.?
Well, present or the future,?we know this very fact that we can't stop our expectations! So, the question that arises - "Should we not expect"? I say we should! because expectations give us hope and freedom and help us align or realign our nature. How much should we expect?
We should expect only to that level where we feel we can deliver the same if asked. We should expect more in love only when we are ready to invest our love towards that person. We should expect more from our colleagues only when we know how to deliver those expectations in return. We should expect more from us only when we are ready to accept what we don't know.?
Please share your thoughts and experiences, and let me know how expectations helped you live a better life??
