Do larger companies need to change their company culture to survive?

We've seen a shift recently with fewer tech companies providing equity and stock options as part of their compensation package so we were curious to see if this is industry wide:

Based on our research less than 40% of business offer any sort of equity or stock options to entice top talent. This could be because founders and investors are looking to keep more control of their companies in more challenging conditions, especially with many of them facing the need to raise more capital to plug short-term cash-flow issues.

Will we see more companies starting to offer equity again as we enter the new financial year?
