Do I look good enough ?

Do I look good enough ?

Did I heard it right? I am not good enough!

Is it something you tell yourself over and over again throughout most of your adult life?

The route to this opinion can be anyone or anything.

May be your parents!

You might have not realised but most of your negative opinions stem from your family or media

It gets into your subconscious mind by comparing yourself to models and actresses.

Was it that pimple that made you feel this way?

Or your colour, height, weight, hair?

This list can go on and on and on.

I can give you number of examples of people around the world who have gone way past their beauty issues and claimed their self worth.

Be it Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, Neha Kakkar, Bharti Singh, Kapil Sharma and many more who have not let their appearances define their destiny.

Eyeopener – The perfect body type is not even 1% in this world

Why seek others approval when you are blessed with a unique body?

Please don’t confuse embracing your beauty as a reason to have a laid back approach to your fitness.

You are born with a certain shade and hereditary height.

But your shape is defined by your lifestyle.

If keeping in shape requires extra effort for your body then it’s your responsibility to give your body the level of fitness it deserves.

However, your body image is in your mind.

The way you perceive your body is very important.

For instance, a fit person can also have a false belief that he is not fit whereas an unfit person can be extremely happy in his body.

Therefore body image and body are two different concepts.

Working on your body and loving your body starts with how you see it.

Don’t try to fit in when you are blessed with uniqueness.

Feel precious about your body.

It is your greatest gift which cannot be exchanged or bought at any cost.

Rise above the pain you are causing to yourself.

As a physician, I have seen far too much of individuals putting themselves down. It makes them sick! There are two simple treatments that I can recommend. Get a notebook, and write Only Positive things about yourself. You have an amazing body - everyone does! And lots more things that you had something to do with. Second, when you find a phrase or sentence that is positive and which you are happy with, write it down 100 times, and think about it as you do so. Best wishes

In one sense we are made to fit in to maintain the image that society builds for us. No matter how many people tell us that we are unique and that we are good enough, at the back of our heads. We know that it is not entirely true!
