Do an Hour of Code over Winter Break!
Computer Science Education Week may be over, but the code.org site is available year round. That means if you weren't able to make it to an Hour of Code? event during the first week of December, you and your child can still get in some quality enrichment time during the Winter holidays.
Here's the slide we had up during Seattle CoderDojo's Hour of Code? event at the Amazon.com Meeting Center in Downtown Seattle.
It's our 8 recommended tutorials for that day, but code.org/learn has a whole bunch more.
Even if you're not a coder, if you can read, reason, and follow instructions, you can help your kids through the top row and have some fun. It gets more complex from there.
And at every Seattle CoderDojo meetup, we dedicate a space to helping kids do the Hour of Code? and get confident about coding. Check out seattlecoderdojo.com for free tickets to our January 7th meetup... available Christmas morning. :-)
