Do not hire a VA until you read this

Do not hire a VA until you read this

?? [WARNING] Do NOT hire a VA until you read this.

Most businesses’ hiring process look somewhat like this:

1 – Search for a job site or a VA agency

2 – Hire whoever has a pulse and is willing to be paid for cheap

3 – Assign the new hire random tasks to do

4 – Wonder why nothing gets done correctly

5 – Spend crazy amounts of time on training, managing, and correcting mistakes

6 – Feel like they’re pouring time and payroll down the drain

7 – Fire the VA and revert back to square one.

We have a vetting process that averages 1 hire out of 158.5 applications, partly because we have standards, partly because we know exactly what to qualify for with clients so they can find the best fit.

But at the end of the day, making the right hire is only 10% of the game.

There’s a fine line between transformative hires that liberates the owner and grows the business… and disastrous hires that lead to a massive waste of time and money.

That fine line is drawn by the prep work that is done BEFORE the hire.

?? Role mission

?? Role title

?? Responsibility

?? KPIs

?? Company introduction

?? Communication cadence

?? Daily, weekly, monthly and trigger-based duties

?? Overview of company operations and processes

If the above is not clarified and prepared BEFORE the hire… you’re going to have a bad time.

Because what happens to a VA who isn’t provided with clear expectations, clear purposes, and guidelines on how to perform for the company?

Even if they check all the boxes of the perfect candidate you’re looking for… they will underperform.

Because expectations that aren’t communicated are expectations that won’t be met, and a lack of clarity will only lead to confusion.

That’s exactly why we work with clients to make sure all prep work is done BEFORE onboarding. So that the VA can know exactly what benchmarks and outcomes they should be aiming for, how to best utilize their time, and confidently perform for the company.

Your time as the Founder is the most valuable resource of the business, don’t waste on a painfully slow onramp process that involves endless re-training, resetting of expectations, and micromanaging.

Hours invested in proper prep work will save hundreds of hours down the line. Get that part right, and your VA can hit the ground running from day 1 and reach peak productivity within their first week. ??

Without proper preparation, the onboarding process can be painful. Setting role missions, responsibilities, KPIs, and communication cadence beforehand is key to success.
