Farewell parties always end with moist eyes. More so if it is your own. After working in a company for nearly two decades, after building up an HR business from a zero base of clients, after recruiting thousands of candidates and gaining satisfaction from their soaring careers, I made the decision to fly the nest this August.

As for my new role, I now serve as CEO/ Partner of an integrated HR services Provider in Dubai called Legacy Smart Employment Services. You could almost call it a start-up, because it’s just three years old. There are no archives, no set patterns, no boundaries at Legacy. What I like most about the place… is that everything about it (including the name) is Smart. 

At the heart of the company is a robust HR Management System that is cloud-based – clients and employees can log in and access relevant information in real time, 24X7. 

At Legacy, I aim to view HR with a socio-economic lens. If you have been following my recent posts on social media, you would have noticed that I have decided to think of employees as humans and not resources. It’s more important for me to place people in jobs they deserve than respond to placement requests. Here’s how I plan to walk the talk:

Every Thursday afternoon at my office, I plan to meet at least 5 candidates that are looking for a job opportunity. They are welcome to discuss anything - from their career aspirations to tips on writing a CV. 

As for prospective clients, they are welcome to walk in any day. At Legacy Smart you can always be assured of our service and delivery commitment.  We outsource contract staff for Retail Sales, IT Projects, Banking and Finance, Government and FMCG.

Well, that’s quite a bit for Page One of my digital Diary. As I publish the post, I can almost hear the reverberating comments from my business colleagues and partners: "But I thought Ultimate was your company?"

All I can say is sometimes in life you are pushed towards something.  You do not know what and why.  If you have been working honestly and doing good to the community, you have to believe in the power above to take you to a better place. This is my story.
