Do Exotic Car Companies Do Crash Tests?
Are Exotic Cars Crash Tested?

The short answer is "yes they do". In the United States, crash tests are standard and mandatory for any car that hits the road. For millions of Americans, the results of the crash test will determine whether or not they end up buying a particular vehicle for themselves or a family member. When it comes to exotic supercars though, the enthusiasts that make these high-end purchases are much less likely to be concerned about how it would fair in a crash as they are looking for performance rather than safety. Manufacturers of exotic supercars put hundreds of thousands of dollars into building each vehicle. Unlike mass-produced cars in some of the leading car manufacturing companies, building an exotic vehicle takes a lot of time, effort, and skills from leading professionals. Since all cars in the United States need to perform a safety and emissions test before they can be sold to the public, supercar companies typically create a prototype that demonstrates the abilities and shortcomings of the car’s safety.
