"Do Epic Shit" is a captivating book by Ankur Warikoo , a person whose wisdom has often inspired me to make changes in my life.
"You are what you do, not what you say you'll do."
How did I come across this book?
My journey with "Do Epic Shit" began with Ankur's YouTube channel. His insightful content always resonated with me. Later, while browsing through a bookstore in Phoenix mall, I stumbled upon the book. I flipped through a few pages and felt an urge to get this book as a light read.
You have just one life, why waste it with just one identity?
A brief overview:
"Do Epic Shit" is a compelling guide that encourages us to push boundaries, shatter limitations, and achieve greatness in every aspect of our lives. It's not just a book; it's a roadmap to personal growth and success. It is a light read for most, but a very good first book if you're someone willing to get into the habit of reading.
A very unique thing about this book is that every page of it contains bite-sized knowledge snippets, and thus there is no compulsion to read it in order. The main character of this book is you, and it feels like Ankur is acting as your personal guide.
"To know what you don't know is power. To ask and learn what you don't know is a superpower."
Some of the major lessons I took from this book:

My thoughts about this book:
If you're someone who has been intrigued by the productivity and self-help genre, and have read books like "Atomic Habits" or "Ikigai" or similar ones ( book reviews coming soon ), you might find some ideas being repeated here as well.
Also, if you're someone who has been consuming Ankur's content on youtube, a fair amount of overlap exists which might seem to reduce the density and unique value proposition of the book.
Nevertheless, if you're a novice reader or someone who is starting to get into the productivity space, this book serves as an excellent entry-point into the area. Some parts of the book lack the backup of solid facts and end up feeling like a general motivation lacking a solid base.
The other parts of the book do include a lot of his personal experiences which add a layer of connection with the author, allowing us to absorb a lot more from his experiences.
The book consists of 6 chapters, each dealing with a certain area of life:
A year from now, you will never be sure of the results. But you can certainly be sure of regret, if you don’t start today.
My rating:
I would rate this book a 3.5 / 5, since I have been consuming a lot of similar material which reduced the unique value of this book. However, for most new readers and people looking for a gentle entry into the productivity space, I would definitely recommend this book.
Nothing beats the feeling of having done more in twenty-four hours than what the day expected you to!
