Do it!

A month ago, a colleague approached me to join a twenty-one-day challenge. I was hesitant at first but eventually agreed. I struggled to keep up with the challenge for the first few days. Eventually, I got in the groove and was moving with the other participants.
Some days into the challenge there was an assignment that I was supposed to carry out. The assignment threw me way out of my comfort zone. I was afraid to do the assignment. I did not do the assignment on the allotted day. During the week after the day of the assignment I felt greatly bothered. Every single day of not having done the assignment hung on me like an albatross. The monsters in my head were growing by the day and were consuming me.
I was afraid to do the assignment because I thought people would judge me and think a million and one negative things about me. I remembered the saying I had come across once that, “The best way to overcome fear is to do that which you fear”. A week after the assignment was supposed to be done, I eventually did it!
None of what I had feared manifested, giving credence to the notion that a significant proportion of the things that we fear never actually happen. What have you been afraid of doing? Is speaking one of your fears? A significant portion of your fears will die if you just do.
