Dear, while the world is falling over facebook and data crisis, we should know our steps too. Do you know the smartest way to protect your film from being downloadable on youtube and everywhere else? Post fake videos of your film with all possible titles even before the release. There must be a breathing time between launching the movie songs and movie release. This is the period I call, "save your investment moment". A moment of truth which is not prescribed by Google's customer experience journey but this was highly necessary for the film industry.
The case isn't any dissimilar while I'm writing on Linkedin or Facebook. Everyone has our data. Some breaches beyond and makes more money while others lag behind. Well, I don't see any harm. Facebook didn't force me on a gun point neither did Linkedin, we gave our information on our own will. We didn't even pay a sign up fee. They have all the right to sell my data to be logical.
I'll focus on facebook now. Birth dates were the biggest secret of a girl's life and surely people keeps it open to read some good wishes and feel above the world for a day. That doesn't necessarily mean the year of birth would be publicly available. However, facebook knows your birth date unless you've falsified during the signup. What's wrong with that? Your credit card relationship manager also knows about your birth year, the smirking guy from your college registrar's office also know how old you are, even that sweaty guy at the education board office whose mouth is full of paan-zarda.
Lets shift from birthday to other forms of data that we've provided till date. Marital status, phone number, email id, home address, office address, work profile, interests, friends list and beyond. I don't see any problem with that. But little did you know that the face recognition system has gone down so deep that it can recognize you from a photograph taken by anyone at any party which could even be the moment of wardrobe failure or a slip on the floor. Can you erase? No.
So, what should we do? First, go to settings and download all your data. You'll see "Download a copy" on your General Account Settings.
Once you're done with downloads, read the first paragraph again and you should be able to figure out your next steps. Let's resume. If you're stuck anywhere, feel free to inbox for suggestions.
