And now you are asking yourself, what does this lyric from the song, “Funny Valentine”, have to do with Real Estate.? I told you that I see things that no one else sees whether it is in business or in my personal life.? A couple of days ago I wrote an article that told you that it was so much better for income taxes if you were a Real Estate PROFESSIONAL instead of being classified as a Real Estate INVESTOR.? But, I always tell me clients not to change their lives to save income taxes.? Saving money is important but you are only on GOD’s green Earth for so long, and the one thing in this world that you can NEVER get back is this moment.? Don’t blow it!!!

To give you some perspective on what goes through my head, it is Wednesday morning and it’s about 8:30 AM here in sunny Southern California.? I woke up some time before 6 AM today to post my daily article and it was about the tremendous income tax advantage that being a Real Estate Professional gives you over being a Real Estate Investor.? Then I went back to sleep for a while.? By the way, I had a GREAT sleep!!!? I cannot count how many people I have advised on real estate in my career as a Certified Public Accountant and as a Commercial Realtor.? And I always go over the advantage of being a Real Estate Professional as opposed to being a Real Estate Investor.? But, I never, NEVER, want you to change your lifestyle or direction to accomplish that, giving up any happiness that your current lifestyle affords you.? As I said before, the most precious thing that we have in this lifetime is TIME because no matter what, you can never get this moment back!!!? Live your life to be happy and don’t compromise the most precious thing we have!!!

I may be a Real Estate Advisor, an Income Tax Advisor, and a Business Coach, but first and foremost I am a PERSON!!!? Money is surely important to all of us, but money cannot bring you happiness.? Anyway, that’s what they tell me.? I have counseled a number of couples to have one of them change their work classification to become a Real estate Professional but that was only if they made the decision that saving taxes this way was not going to change who they were.? I care for my clients as people and friends first and clients second.

I cannot tell you how disturbed I was lying in bed after I posted today’s article because I did not want to give anyone advice that would make them unhappy.? I give my advice to make your lives better and not to make anyone unhappy.? But don’t get me wrong.? This may be the proper path to take for some people but it’s not for everyone.? Choose whatever works for you and enjoy every minute you have!!!? Happy Friday and have an absolutely great weekend!!!
