I Write Words That Make Your Clients Say Shut Up And Take My Money - Direct Response Copywriter - Word Salad Murderer
There is one key thing you must to ensure more clients choose your product or service over the competition?
Simply it is to set the market buying criteria. Let me explain what I mean.
The people who are going to buy what you sell are typically not experts in what you do and therefore don't know how to evaluate you versus the competition.
Left alone this encourages the most awful phenomenon in business...price comparison. Arrghh!
But it isn't the fault of the client it's actually our fault because we haven't educated them sufficiently as to how to make a smart buying decision.
It isn't your fault either because no one teaches you how to do this.
The solution is called education based marketing and it simply involves producing and sharing helpful information that potential clients can get that helps them make a smarter decision.
Now as the producer of the information you can set the buying criteria in your favour. That means you get the client to evaluate their options and see if they do X, Y and Z. Those are things that you do to ensure a great client result. As many as possible should be things you do differently to your competitors.
For example let's say you a website designer. You might have a 17 point launch checklist you run every site through before you make it live. That becomes a buying criteria you ask potential clients if the other suppliers do that as well. You already know the answer, they don't!
If you can come up with 5-7 things people should look for to make the right decision that is enough. Turn it into a buyers guide to whatever it is you sell.
You can have a soft pitch at the end for them to get more help. Plus you should capture at least an email from everyone who wants a copy. That way you can follow up with further helpful tips and information so that when they're ready to buy you are seen as the only real choice.
