Do not be afraid of Failure
In GK, all of us have learnt that the first Aircraft was built by the Wright brothers. Little do we know that till the day before, another person by the name of Dr. Samuel P. Langley, a scientist and an astronomer was making an attempt to create history in inventing the first Air flight.
However, though Langley was a prominent Scientist and an Astronomer, the Aerodrome he had invented with Government Aids did not take off. He made a second attempt, but that too was in vain. Faced with huge criticism, he gave up on his mission. Meanwhile, uneducated and unknown without any Government Aid, the Wright brothers flew their plane in America successfully and created history.
There are a few lessons to be learnt from this incident:
- Realising that Failure as an outcome does not make me a failure – It is either an outcome of the situation or some factor, which can be rectified, if worked upon
- Move ahead of the Fear of Failure – if we keep thinking of the failure, we will stop taking actions and subsequently our inexperience will lead to inability. Hence, we should never quit
- Learn from the mistakes and take corrective actions – No matter how much we hated doing the corrections in school 3 times for a spelling mistake, it had a bigger purpose behind
- Its important to accept Failure and not aim for Success only – Though we are told to aim for success only, but we should be prepared for Failure as well and learn from it
