(Proverbs 24:16)

“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again…”

Often times, there is the tendency of slipping into discouragement when performance is perceived to be below expectation. When unattended to, that feeling may graduate into an acceptance of defeat, whereas this is not the proper response to low performance.

Anything that gives up is not hard work. Hard work continues until it discovers better ways to get things done. A wise man once said that if you fail a hundred times, you have just discovered a hundred ways it should not be done, and this is remarkably true. Failure to achieve your goal after a trial or more is not an indication of your defeat.

Just like our scriptural text for today shows us, you must make up your mind never to accept defeat by getting back on your feet and giving your goal another try. Rather than seeing yourself as a failure, effect the changes that you know is right to make, and get back on your feet. Glory to God!

Dear Lord, strengthen me never to give up or accept defeat in Jesus name.

Dear Father, I thank you for your love towards me and for making available to me all things that pertains to this life and godliness. Because you are a good God, you have prepared a great future for me and given me your Holy Spirit to guide and teach me to excel in all I do. So I yield my body, soul and spirit wholly to you this day; order my steps Oh Lord and have your way in me in Jesus Name. Amen.
