Most recruiters make the mistake of having only one goal in mind while recruiting, converting prospects into a potential hire. Recruiter start establishing a lifelong connection even if you don't recruit this position.

One fundamental principle most recruiters miss focusing on in the entire hiring-cycle, is identifying the needs of the candidates! This should ideally come in even before the candidates start working with you!

One of the common mistakes recruiters often end up making is initiating the process of hiring without Identifying the Needs of the Candidates such as:

· What motivates them?

· What are their future aspirations?

· What are their expectations from the job?

Answering the above will help you improve the quality of candidates as well as offer the candidate, a better experience overall.

Listen twice as much as you talk. The most successful recruiters talk less than 1/3 of the time & ask the best questions. During conversation establish rapport & show how you could benefit them not only now, but maybe in the future, as a result, they will be more comfortable. Ask your candidates what resources they use when they are looking for job.

The more trust & rapport you develop the better chance you have of representing them. Your candidates will not necessarily remember what you say to them, but they will always remember how you made them feel. Ask your new hire how they're adjusting to their new job & if there is any assistance, they need from you.

Your Strong Follow up Process will benefit your Hiring manager, Your New hire & You. Take time to understand your company's follow-up process & if there is no process discuss the best way to implement one with your supervisor. But the follow up process required human interaction. Technology is tool that support not replace the personal interaction that you have with you have with candidate. As job seeker event I felt that.
