DMU Named Best University for Career Success—Twice
De Montfort University (DMU) Leicester, one of AHZ’s valued partners, has been named the best university in the UK for work experience for the second year in a row. It ranked number one in the 2025 Rate My Placement table, with students praising the support they received in finding work experience.
The university’s Careers Team played a big role in this achievement. Students rated the quality of guidance and resources available to help them secure work placements. The team assists with both mandatory placements and optional schemes like Frontrunners, ACE Internships, and the Enterprise Placement Year.
Richard Bowden, Head of Careers and Graduate Success at DMU, highlighted how work experience is key to career success. He said the team works hard to remove barriers students face when looking for jobs. Their support includes CV help and guidance for students wanting to start their own businesses.
Rate My Placement, launched in 2007, allows students to review their work experiences, helping others make informed choices. With over 70,000 reviews and one million ratings, the platform gathers student feedback on work placements.
DMU offers various ways for students to gain experience. The Frontrunners scheme provides paid work within the university, while the ACE Internship programme offers six-week paid roles in Midlands-based businesses. Each faculty also has a dedicated placement team to help students find relevant opportunities.
Students can visit the Career Hub for free advice between 10am and 3pm on weekdays.
