DMC Mining Services Chile Operations welcomes the Boxhole Boring Machine BBM-1500 MI-052

DMC Mining Services Chile operations is expanding its fleet by adding a fifth piece of equipment in the Vertical Development sector. This latest version of the BBM-1500 equipment incorporates the latest elements of innovation and technology available in the market, to deliver a service with the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency to our customers.

The BBM-1500 MI-052, with its new design, offers multiple improvements based on the recent experiences obtained in the operation of our four Boxhole machines already available in Chile since 2019.

The BBM-1500 MI-052, performs raising excavations with a diameter of 1500 mm and a capacity of up to 70 meters in length.

The BBM-1500 MI-052, performs raising excavations with a diameter of 1500 mm and a capacity of up to 70 meters in length. Additionally, it has navigation cylinders that always monitor the direction of the excavation, which minimizes deviations and allows to excavate at angles of up to 60° inclination. This machine can reach a performance of over 1.5 m/hour in good quality rock and does not require a concrete slab for installation.

Boxhole technology uses feed tubes of a similar diameter to the excavation, which allows to confine the rock of the raise walls both during the feed and during the removal of the tubes and reaming head. In addition, this excavation method can incorporate downward mechanized lining, without exposing personnel, which in turn protects and provides a longer life span to the excavation.

Our boxhole equipment, which is unique in Chile, has developed 16 chimneys and one shaft with full mechanized shielding, while demonstrating the highest standards in safety, quality, and performance. This, together with the permanent search for solutions with the use of boxhole equipment and technology, has secured a leading position in the field of excavation of chimneys and shafts.

DMC Mining Service Chile SpA amplía su flota agregando un quinto equipo en el área de Desarrollos Verticales. Esta última versión del equipo BBM1500 incorpora los últimos elementos de innovación y tecnología disponibles en el mercado para entregar un servicio con los más altos estándares de seguridad, calidad y eficiencia a nuestros clientes.

La BBM1500 MI-052, incorpora en su nuevo dise?o, múltiples mejoras basadas en las recientes experiencias obtenidas en la operación de nuestras 4 máquinas Boxhole ya disponibles en Chile desde 2019.

La BBM1500 MI-052, realiza excavaciones ascendentes con un diámetro de 1500 mm, con un alcance de hasta 70 metros de longitud. Adicionalmente, cuenta con cilindros de navegación que monitorean en todo momento el direccionamiento de la excavación, permitiendo minimizar las desviaciones y excavar en ángulos de hasta 60° de inclinación. Esta máquina puede alcanzar rendimientos por sobre 1.5 m/hora en roca de buena calidad, y no requiere losa de concreto para su instalación.

La tecnología Boxhole utiliza tubos de avance de similar diámetro al de la excavación, lo cual permite confinar la roca de las paredes de la chimenea tanto durante el avance como durante el retiro de los tubos y cabeza escariadora. Adicionalmente, este método de excavación puede incorporar blindaje mecanizado descendente, sin exposición del personal, y protegiendo y dando una mayor vida útil a la excavación.

Nuestros equipos Boxhole, únicos en Chile, han desarrollado hasta la fecha 16 chimeneas y un pique con blindaje full mecanizado, con los más altos estándares en seguridad, calidad y rendimiento. Lo anterior, sumado a la permanente búsqueda de soluciones con el uso de equipos boxhole nos ha permitido tomar posiciones de liderazgo en el ámbito de la excavación de chimeneas y piques.
