DLR Group Selects Steven McKay, RIBA as Next CEO
Effective October 1, 2022, and in accordance with the DLR Group Board of Directors's selection,?Steven McKay , RIBA, will be chief executive officer for the firm. He succeeds?Griff Davenport , FAIA, who remains a managing principal and chairman of the board of directors. McKay is also a managing principal and currently serves as chief design officer for DLR Group. He is the fourth executive leader for DLR Group since its founding in 1966.
"For 26 years, Steven has championed integrated design in our firm," Davenport said. "He is a passionate believer in the power of design to influence the built environment at a time where we need critical design thinking more than ever."?
McKay has led the firm’s practice of integrated design since 2002, and was instrumental in founding and developing the firm’s corporate practice. In 2013, he helped establish DLR Group’s office in Shanghai, China and collaborated with Architecture 2030 founder?Edward Mazria ?on the development of the?China Accord ?to guide the design and delivery of buildings and entire communities to carbon neutral standards.
