DIY AI : Disrupting the AI disruption

Today was a great day for us. We had Year 3 kids from Belair Primary school build their own AI detection app on old Samsung tablets.

Yes, Kids can now build AI apps

We have made that possible by building a mobile app to build AI detection apps, running entirely on the device. Thanks to Google Tensorflow we are able to create AI engines using the MobileNet models that can be created in the device itself. This opens up immense possibilities.

So this is what they did. 15 images of legs and 15 images of hands.

Hit "Train" and in a few minutes the AI Engine is ready to go - that simple.

Why are we building AI Engines for kids ?

We are not. We are building apps that will allow anyone to build AI apps. If kids can do it the rest can. Our focus is currently on Agriculture and we are busy building apps for the detection of pest and leaf diseases. Our demo site is here > demo.gomicro.co (please use the drop down list to explore). The implications are interesting, mainly because we have developed a technology that can train AI engines with a small number of images in the order of 30~40 target images. We are able to do this because we have designed and build a device especially for this.

What is means for the implementation of AI

Its now going to be easy, fast, cheap, and be possible for any one with our GoMicro AI Scope to build High Accuracy AI engines with a small number of images. We are well on our way in democratising AI. Thousands of images and thousands of $ are no longer needed to building accurate AI engines that can work on your phone.
