Dear all valued partners and friends in the Ferro Alloys and Steel Manufacturing Industry,
As we draw near the subsequent large celebration in Indian society, Diwali or Festival of Lights (one that has a very peculiar space in my heart), I thought it would be worthwhile to share some insight. But for those who do not know, Diwali is a lot more than just another festival — the very essence of so many traditions, stories and universal values that define this day are unmissable really.
The Homecoming of Lord Rama
A big part of Diwali mythology is the return to Lord Rama's kingdom, Ayodhya where he was received after 14 years exile and his victory over the demon King Ravana. To welcome him back home, people of Ayodhya lit rows and rows of oil lamps (diyas) that spread light over the whole city. This act expresses victory of good over evil
Ganesh Pooja and Lakshmi Puja
On Diwali, we worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. Blessings of Lord Ganesha stands for blessings from within which says that now i will be available there to give you wisdom and remove all the hurdles in your path. This much desired for wealth and prosperity
Personal Reflections
And given what we do for a living, that one struck closest to home as anybody who engages in making staples of progress from raw material. Similarly to the festive month which celebrates gleam and fresh starts Diwali, is this endless journey we are a part of that lightens up the world with tools for innovation. I remember the glow of lamps on a Diwali evening at our factory as they almost merged with molten metal — creating something new and powerful. This was a gentle reminder of the fact that our work is not just commerce but enabling people to build a better tomorrow
