Divorce
From Thoughts of an Ignorant Man by Brian Asimor

Divorce

Divorce reminds me of the quote by John Greenfied Whittier - “Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.”

Divorce leaves much damage that lingers through time. It serves no good to the parties involved, most of all the children. It deprives the child of nurturing to build from which is the joy that love between a man and a woman’s loving marriage offers.

Life is truly a learning experience. However, such learning grows more painful as time passes when looking back, back to the many missing moments with your child as they grow each day. Being with them to see they're face as they accomplish the slightest achievement. Being awakened by them on your day off from work. Spending time with them on a favorite project of theirs or simply siting down with them each day for breakfast and supper.

Our example is the greatest gift we can offer our child and many such as I could not see what lies ahead for me and especially for my child. Damage from divorce follows one through life and in many cases sets a growing void where trust should be between the parent and the child. This void is difficult to cross when attempts are made to communicate from heart to heart.

God the creator of all things with his son Jesus Christ have a remedy that can fix what man has broken. In their generous favor to me, they have shown me my mistakes and have given me the strength to face them head on, even though it has taken many years.

No one person is responsible for divorce. It is a cooperative effort of ignorance and hurt egos that brings it to be. Ignorance is no excuse. It is a barrier that prevents us seeing. What we cannot see, we cannot prevent or avoid. Prayer removes barriers and sharpens the sight!
