THE DIVISION OF THE PROMISED LAND

PROCLAMATION

“This is the land that yet remaineth; all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri … These are the countries which Moses did distribute for inheritance in the plains of Moab, on the other side of Jordan, by Jericho, eastward.”?Joshua 13:2-33 (KJV)

EXPLANATION

These are the words of God which were revealed to and written by Joshua under the influence of The Holy Spirit of God.??The Lord God spoke to Joshua and said unto him, “Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed. (Joshua 13:1)?The remainder of chapter thirteen presents the land and the borders of each of the countries which Israel had yet to conquer and take possession thereof.?It also presents the tribes of Israel to which that land is to be distributed. (Joshua 13:1-33)?Joshua had conquered the northern and the southern kingdoms.?What remained to be conquered were the kingdoms to the east.

APPLICATION

As long as we are here on earth there will always be battles to be fought.?There will always be people that the devil can use to attack us or to block our progress.?As believers we are soldiers on the battlefield for The Lord and we should always be prepared to withstand the attacks of the devil.?That is why we should put on the whole armor of God. (Ephesians 6:11-13)?That which is our inheritance that The Lord God has for us will not be given to anyone else.?And, it has been written that the “… eye hath not seen … neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)
