Diving into 2024 with Intention and Alignment: Lessons from the Water's Edge

As I reflected on my journey through 2023, the words "intentional" and "alignment" echoed in my mind like a mantra. It reminded me of a peculiar moment with my therapist and coaches, where I found myself standing at the edge of the pool of life, contemplating how to dive in.

"I know how to swim," I'd tell them, "but I keep walking around the pool trying to figure out how to enter. Do I walk in using the steps, or the ladder? Do I dive in on the side or off the board?" The imagery of my hesitancy resembled a dance, a mental Water Dance, reminiscent of DJ Flexx's track that resonates deeply with my Virginia roots.

Then came the unexpected advice from my therapist: "Get in the water!" Laughter ensued, but the simplicity of those words held profound wisdom. I realized I was overthinking, circling the pool, wasting valuable time and energy that I would need once I embraced the plunge.
