Back in the days when I was still in University, we were obviously stressing about exams. One of our lecturer who was a business lawyer decided to tell us how he studied for his law licence.
He started saying he formed a study group of 6. Immediately, we rolled eye and sigh heavily. Study group seldom work, period.
Now, there's a difference. He explained, the 6 of them has to study a subject each.
When the next time they met, each person becomes the "teacher" of that particular subject they studied and teach in compressed version to the rest of the 5. My lecturer told us this formula lead the 6 of them became a very productive and efficient team that contribute to the success of their studies.
THE DIFFICULT PART
Many of us were taught to unite as one all the time. If we do everything together, we will be able to grow stronger together. But think again, everyone has different strength and needs. How can doing everything, everytime strengthen everyone at the same time?
For example, it is good that a family of 4 can go for a vacation together the family bonding. However, we must also plan in a way that :
Both parents can have "adult" time together,
The siblings can do "kiddy" stuff together,

Mother and Daughter can do "girly" stuff together,
Dad and Son can do "boys" activities together.
And the next time they all met, they can change ideas and experiences about what they did. It could be another form of team building.
Now, imagine that the Dad and Son loves to go fishing and drag the mom and daughter to go simply because the "family" has to be together to "bond". It will be so painful for the mom and daughter to sit on something they are not interested in. Needless to say, you can predict what will happen next. (*sigh*)
QUICK TIP OF THE DAY
The next time when we doing projects, studying or go for vacation, rethink the fear of missing out and focus on strengths and individual needs.
