The diversity of work at Valori makes it very interesting

Wouter Zijlstra, consultant test data management, focuses both internally on a project at Valori and externally on an assignment with a client in The Hague. What does a random workday look like in his diary?
5.00 am: Calling with Hong Kong
"My alarm clock goes every day at five o'clock #5AMChallenge in the morning. My fiancée lives in Hong Kong and we call each other every day. At a quarter to seven I get in the car, today I drive to the office of Valori in Papendorp (Utrecht), where I work as an internal contractor on the GDPR project. "
7.35 am: Data processing register
"Within the framework of the GDPR legislation, Valori must also be screened as an organization: on what fronts do we comply with the legislation and where is adaptation needed? I do this together with a team of three Valori colleagues and three colleagues from Yellowise. Together with a colleague from Yellowise I have written the project plan and plan of approach, which we are carrying out.
We now focus on the data processing register, I am going to draw up a document in which full account is taken of work and associated hours. I will send this report back to my client, Wim Goes from Valori. The GDPR is just one of my priorities, soon I will get in the car and drive to my customer in The Hague. "
9.16 am: Interim test coordinator"Three colleagues from Valori work at the client in The Hague: a test coordinator, an integration test assistant and a tester. In connection with their absence due to vacation I will take over some work from them: the work of the test coordinator for one hundred percent, of the other Valorians work if necessary. I now have a conversation with the tester, who is working on a test job regarding Salesforce. That system is not unknown to me, I worked with it at previous client. What I want to know now is how the environment of this application is implemented at the side of the service center with this client. If there are any questions, I am well prepared in any case. "
12.49 pm: Chain test risk workshop
"From 11:00 am to 02:00 pm I take part in a test risk workshop, with lunch. I have been invited for this, the end-to-end test is one of the phases that I will be supporting at the customer in The Hague in the near future. What do the users see as risk, how do they deal with this and what do they want to have tested: it is useful if I have such information. It is a fascinating workshop, especially thanks to the diversity of risk areas that pass. That provides very nice discussions. The workshop is also very interactive, which is important to me. After all, you want to get as much information as possible, which gives peace afterwards. "
02.02 pm: Identity Access Management
"For the GDPR project of Valori, I had an evening session with a group of colleagues earlier this week. We are going to make a whitepaper to bring about awareness, both internally at Valori colleagues and externally. I provide two topics for this, about awareness and Identity Access Management (IAM). I will look for information on the latter subject in the next hour, focusing on IAM in relation to the AVG. "
03.15 hours: Unrealistic
"I am still with the client in The Hague, where there is currently a planning meeting for the integration of Salesforce and SAP plus a part of the middleware in between. It soon becomes clear that the planning still deserves some critical attention, the assumptions based on documentation are not entirely realistic. This needs to be rebuilt, a task for the client's technical implementation team. It has been agreed that the project manager will inform the steering committee on the basis of these consultations. "
06.25 pm: Blog
"At a quarter past four I am driving towards home from The Hague, on the way I end up in quite a few queues. At home I first let the dog out, then I make some food quickly. After that I write a blog for my own website, entitled 'Do not wait, just do it!'. Then I go to sleep early, tomorrow morning at five o'clock Hong Kong waits for me again. "
