Diversity and Inclusion: Stop Stealing Dreams

Diversity and Inclusion: Stop Stealing Dreams

The neighborhood I grew up in created lots of middle class workers ranging from middle class management in insurance companies and government to lots of people who hold blue collar trade jobs. Several years ago, there was a spark in our community where a child of a single parent decided to pursue an engineering degree and wanted to break out of the box they were placed in.

This individual most recently was our communities inspiration having what we thought were the keys to success. They got married to their high school sweetheart and relocated to #florida and ended up working for a large defense contractor. Over the weekend, I learned that this individual lost their house and was moving back home to the neighborhood.

If we think of diversity and inclusion as a societal promise, then the pain in acknowledging how many Americans have had their dreams stolen by the liberal agenda is heart breaking. What makes it even worse is when conservatives espouse telling people to just get a job and everything will be okay when getting a job is not easy in today's society.

Many societies have deeply ingrained systemic discrimination based on factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, and socio-economic status. These systems can manifest in various forms, including unequal access to education, employment, healthcare, housing, and justice. These challenges have not been truly addressed by our nations laws or changes to employment practices
