DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION: COUNT ME IN
I have yet to see any clear definitions of the terms – Diversity and Inclusion, especially as applied to the everyday world of work.?So here’s my definition:
When applied to the functions of Hiring and Promoting, Diversity and Inclusion require the following:
?1.?A modeling, in behavior, of the core values of the organization
?2.?A demonstration, in action, of the three essential soft skills:
A.?Decision-Making
?????????B.?Relationship-Building
?????????C.?Conflict-Management
?3.?The continual practice and upgrading of the organization’s requisite?hard skills:
?????????A.?Technical Knowledge
?????????B.?Training Abilities
?????????C.?Problem Solving Acumen
?Beyond these requirements, no other characteristics can be taken into?account.?
favoring or discounting individuals on the basis of
?????????external criteria, over which they have no control, is absolutely
?????????forbidden.?Executives and managers practicing positive or
?????????negative favoring, should be summarily terminated.
