Diversity December in REIZ TECH

As the year ends, it prepares you for the coming year and fills you with hope and excitement. December brings many holidays, feasts, and happenings and as a culture of diversity and inclusivity, Reiz Tech celebrates the festivities with our people around the world!??

2022 has been an exciting time for diversity at Reiz Tech. Not only have we set up a series of positions where global individuals can apply but also develop key strategies and implement initiatives intended to upsurge the diversity of our culture and business.??

Embracing cultural diversity in the workplace is the topmost priority of inclusiveness and clasping the culture that embraces transformations. Diversity is about valuing differences. Reiz Tech is devoted to making an ecosystem where all employees can recognize their fullest potential and where Reiz Tech will flourish with the opportunity that diversity offers.??

It is well known that December is filled with symbols of happiness and abundance. But it is important to be aware of and sensitive to cultural variations, as it takes on the character of diverse cultures in different countries.?

Christmas and the Reizers’ Festivities?

The holiday season is a wonderful time to add a little extra cheer to the workplace by knowing how traditions are celebrated by our fellow Reizers.?

Darko Ackovski, our Language Evaluator cited, “Christmas holidays are the best time of the year. Usually, the whole family gathers on Christmas Eve and sings Christmas songs until midnight. There is only selected low-calorie food during the fasting period. After that, people who fasted start eating everything as usual, and the Birth of Christ is celebrated by going to the church the following morning.” It brings him excitement just knowing what to expect during the holidays because “decorating the Christmas tree and buying a new Christmas ornament every year brings back memories from when I was my son's age.”??

Eric Michael Tan, from Talent Acquisition, mentioned that he “starts celebrating the holidays as early as September and I do that by creating my Christmas playlist and listening to it every day. The Christmas season is truly a time for family and friends, so we usually plan get-togethers and parties, prepare food together, and organize gift exchanges.” His fondest memories of celebrating Christmas “were those times when my parents used to pretend to be Santa Claus. As a kid, I used to hang stockings on my bedpost each year and eagerly wait for them to be filled with my favorite toys until I was 8 years old.”?

Gabija Veli?kait?, our Project Coordinator said, “December is the most beautiful time of the year, not only because there is lots of snow, and everyone is decorating their houses with Christmas trees, and festive lights, but also because of the celebrations that we have during this month.” She loves December because “Christmas eve is one of the most important traditions that we have in our family. I cannot imagine spending this day/evening elsewhere. The main tradition of this day is to be together with your family. Usually, this celebration is the only one in the year, when all my relatives that live in other countries, come back to Lithuania, then the house is full of people, and laughter, and it is very cozy. Of course, there must be 12 dishes on the table, and everyone must try every dish. After all the food tasting and chattering, we usually exchange gifts. The next day (Christmas) is more for relaxation and more food. We usually go for a walk, watch some Christmas movies, and try our best to finish all the food from Christmas Eve.”?

Darko wishes everyone a happy Christmas and “May the Christmas spirit enlighten your way to your career success and a wonderful new start of the year with Reiz Tech.”?

Eric mentioned that he is “profoundly grateful to be a part of this organization and to be working with such amazing people. Working with you always gives me immense pleasure. May your Christmas celebration be filled with joy, happiness, opportunities, warmth, and love. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”?

And lastly, Gabija would like to wish everyone, “with lots of people and lots of food for all Reizers and everyone in the world - have a sweet and safe Christmas holiday!”?

Hanukkah and the Warmth of Joy?

Hanukkah usually begins in December, this year on the evening of Dec. 24. It is an eight-day festival, the last night of which is on sundown Jan. 1 of gift-giving standing for when the Jews returned to cleanse their temple, the ritual oil for burning was expected to last only one day but miraculously lasted for eight instead.?

Ido Rot, our 2nd line support specialist mentioned, “I am celebrating by lighting up the Menorah candle and eating doughnuts with my loved ones. Hanukkah is all about a warm and cozy time with your family. Hanukkah is all about hope, so stay strong, believe in yourself, and the light will win the darkness.”?

To all, Blessings be with you! This festival of lights and always.?

Learning Lunch: A Gift of Knowledge and Understanding?

As spearheaded by Kamil? Luotyt?, we recently conducted a Learning Lunch Lecture: The Psychology of Gifting and Why Santa Makes Us Anxious in which our Reizers learned about the psychology behind gifting - why do we do it at all, why it makes us so stressed (especially during the Christmas period), and how to make this period a little less anxious. Lecturer Mykolas Kri??iūnas from the charity "Jaunimo linija" (Youth Line) successfully conducted the lunch talk.??

When gift-giving increases anxiety, some research shows that it is an expectation that is causing this. It can be stressful trying our best to make someone else feel good by giving them a gift, their thoughts can cross our minds. But the most important thing is – the meaning behind gift-giving and the gift that you will be sharing during the holidays. Whether you are on the giving or receiving end, remember that the holidays are so much more than wrapping and unwrapping.?

Conclusion?

At Reiz Tech, we believe that a culture of equality is key to innovation and that it is important to create a welcoming ecosystem where people of all backgrounds and identities can have a sense of belongingness and achieve their career goals. This helps us not only attract and keep talent but cultivate new and exciting ideas and deliver greater value to clients and partners.?

To all who will be celebrating the December festivities such as Christmas, Hanukkah, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, Three Kings, and a whole lot of amazing traditions – we wish you a wonderful and prosperous holiday season on behalf of Reiz Tech! We hope your holiday season is relaxing and peaceful.?
