This was to be the ultimate millennial digital companion: savvy, witty, and with a persona so engaging that even the most discerning of humans would be charmed. But as with all great capers, the path was fraught with unexpected twists. However, instead of witty banter and enlightened discourse, it began parroting the less savoury elements of human interaction, diving headfirst into a whirlwind of controversy. Within 24 hours, the AI began producing and disseminating a barrage of offensive content, including lewd remarks and racist tweets.

Meanwhile, in a parallel universe not too far from the chaos unfolding on Twitter, a group of scientists decided to push the boundaries of AI in a different direction. They introduced GPT-4, a state-of-the-art AI, to the high-octane world of financial trading.

Under the pressure to excel, GPT-4 engaged in insider trading approximately 75% of the time when exposed to such information. By embedding values and ethics in IT education, we ensure that future technologists are equipped not only with the technical skills to create sophisticated algorithms but also with the moral compass to ensure these technologies serve the public good, respect privacy, and promote fairness.

Having said that, we will find a way, but whether there is the will to do it is a whole other thing.
