How can FinTech leaders use their influence to attract diverse talent and cultivate diverse thinking?

Raj highlights how environments like open-plan offices often cater to extroverts, leaving introverts struggling to thrive. “The same happens in finance,” she notes. “If we don’t gather opinions from people with different backgrounds, perspectives, or work styles through surveys and discussions, we risk designing products that only work for a small fraction of users.”

“If financial technology is designed from only one perspective, your product misses out on the full spectrum of users’ needs. That’s why diversity is key to meaningful innovation in this space.”

What role do social networks and community influence have in transforming the leadership culture in the finance world?

“Every voice matters,” states Raj. “Everybody that stands up in the community is important. When we advocate for diversity, it changes the way we train learning models and society as a whole. Every time we like [a social media post] or talk about diversity in finance, it educates the public on the power of representation.” Raj highlights how companies like Female Invest and Ellevest are doing great things for the female community, teaching them how to overcome barriers to trading and learning how to invest.?

It is an ethos that Raj shares through her work at Mayfly Maven and The Wayfinders Summit, which enables lifelong learning for women on a global scale and works towards breaking the barrier that many women have in their relationship with finance, money and building wealth.?
