Diversey and Sustainability #OnlyOnePlanet
World Environment day is a day where the U.N. encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
This year’s campaign, #OnlyOneEarth , highlights the need to reset the balance with nature through transformative changes in how we eat, live, work and move around. While many are aware of climate change it’s important to understand the urgency of making changes today instead of tomorrow.
The environment and infectious diseases
Environmental issues such as climate change, rising ocean levels, and plastic pollution are being driven by a growing global population and the expansion of international commerce. Much like infectious diseases, these challenges aren’t restricted by geopolitical borders or nationality. There also is growing evidence that climate change and deforestation are leading to more infectious disease outbreaks, as people are coming into more frequent contact with zoonotic pathogens due to loss of habitat and altered weather patterns.?
Diversey has had a long-standing commitment to sustainability that originated from a focus on solutions that lower customers’ total cost to clean by preventing waste, conserving water, and reducing energy costs. Our sustainability approach
Our "Protect. Care. Sustain" strategy will guide our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) priorities and actions. ESG is core to how we create value and drive growth as a business. It is a common thread that weaves through all our sectors and value propositions.??
The strategy is supported by both 2030 goals and near-term targets, which will further reduce our environmental footprint, address social inequality and deliver solutions to help our customers reach their own sustainability goals.

How to reach your sustainability goals
Green cleaning can be defined as the use of cleaning products, tools, equipment and methods that protect the health of building occupants, lower the total cost of cleaning, and prevent environmental damage. For cleaning to be 'green', the products must effectively remove pollutants and pathogens from the building without introducing new risks to occupants.?
Aside from green cleaning products we also focus on one of the most important resources on this planet; water. As an increasingly scarce resource, water is a barometer for the impact of climate change and a key focus of sustainability initiatives. In some locations, acute water scarcity and drought conditions are the most stringent environmental issues to be faced.?
All the water you source, whether used in your products or cleaning regimes, needs to meet exacting standards to avoid contamination in order to protect your customers, the environment and your business. This also applies to every last drop that leaves your facility. Dealing with water as a by-product of production often takes place within a framework of legislation.
It is increasingly important to integrate the three ‘Rs’ of water management into your production:
Our tools help optimize total water use, reduce waste, and lessen your environmental footprint by building quality and resilience in supply from your groundwater up. Whether it’s in the kitchen, a work environment, retail or in a factory setting; Diversey offers green cleaning products, applicators, procedures, training and written policies. This takes all the guesswork out of making your business more sustainable while increasing safety for you, your employees and customers.?
