People want to stay at a company where they feel like they belong. It may seem small to recognise a wide range of holidays; make allowances for different languages spoken; consider other cultures when making sweeping statements - but it is the important awareness of the others that avoids an 'us' and 'them' attitude, and encourages people to stay and grow in our team.?
For example, even though Payara has its two offices in Europe, we never assume that Christmas and Easter are celebrated by all. Instead, we surveyed the holidays that mean the most to our team, making sure that we acknowledge the celebrations that matter to Payarans specifically.??
