Following the success of Diverse Educators I and II, this annual grassroots diversity event will build on the celebration and showcasing of diversity, equality and inclusion in education:
#BAMEed meets #WomenEd meets #LGBTed meets #DisabilityEd meets #AllSupported!
This year’s theme: We are stronger together is an opportunity for the various grassroot communities to further develop their connections and collaborations. Championing others, allyship for under-represented groups, advocacy for change for all is at the heart of our shared vision for inclusive schools and our collective responsibility for social equity.
Keynote Speakers:
Diana Osagie, our opening speaker on ‘Courageous Leadership’, is a former Headteacher from London, she is the CEO of Courageous Leadership and delivers leadership development training, coaching and mentoring to nurture the next generation of leaders.
Karen Giles, our middle keynote, will speak about ‘Girl Rising: Empowering the next generation’. As a global educator she contributes to nurturing talent through various Leadership programmes such as Ambition School Leadership, the Leading Women's Alliance and the London Leadership Strategy.
T'Challa Greaves, our closing keynote, is a science LP from London, he has recently completed our Diverse Leaders programme, funded by the DFE Diversity and Equalities grants. He will share his ‘Leadership Journey’ and how he has been inspired and empowered by leaving his comfort zone and how he is determined to break the mould for himself and others.
This year the event is moving from Oxfordshire to Berkshire. Antonia Spinks, Co-CEO of the Pioneer Education Trust, Mark Pritchard, Headteacher of Upton Court Grammar School and Hannah Wilson the event founder and Head of Secondary Teacher Training at the University of Buckingham are organising and hosting the event in Slough.
Themes will range from leadership to networking, from inclusive classrooms to representation in the curriculum, from allyship to collaborative opportunities.
