This segment of the stock market has been comparatively more asymmetric this year, with SIA and Genting Singapore booking net institutional outflows, and both in the red for 2H24 (to 22 Nov) averaging a 5% decline in total returns. Meanwhile SATS, Thai Beverage and Hongkong Land booked net institutional inflow, and were all in the green in 2H24 (to 22 Nov) averaging 33% total returns. One important differentiator was the latter three stocks were priced at more than one standard deviation to their average 5-year book values at the onset of 2H24.

Determining whether a stock is undervalued or overvalued compared to its financial performance, price history, and sector trends is a key objective of stock research reports.
