Ditch The Dad Bod - 5 Simple Tips

My exercise regime has changed quite a bit over the last 10 years…


Why?


Well, a couple of major things have happened in my life which have impacted the way I train and how long…


Firstly I went full-time into building my business…


Secondly, I became a dad of two boys, and all the sleepless nights and family commitments that come with kids as well as being a human dustbin, finishing all their food.


Gone are the days when I can spend hours in the gym.


If you're of a similar age to me, maybe you can relate to these life transitions and challenges when it comes to looking after your health.


So here are my top 5 tips to help you focus on staying fit and in great shape if you're a busy dad like me.


1. Prioritise Short, Intense Workouts: Opt for high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions. Quick, intense workouts can be effective in burning calories and improving fitness, fitting well into a busy schedule.


2. Incorporate Functional Exercises: Focus on exercises that engage multiple muscle groups, like squats, lunges, and push-ups. This can maximize your workout efficiency and promote overall strength.


3. Schedule Workouts in Advance: Treat your workouts like appointments. Block specific times in your calendar for exercise, making it a non-negotiable part of your routine.


4. Involve the Family: Turn exercise into a family activity. Whether it's a weekend hike, bike ride, or a quick game of sports with your kids, it's a win-win for bonding and fitness.


5. Meal Planning and Healthy Snacking: Support your fitness goals with a balanced diet. Plan meals ahead, incorporate nutritious snacks, and stay hydrated. Nutrition plays a crucial role in achieving and maintaining a healthy body composition.


Remember, consistency is key. Small, sustainable changes over time can lead to meaningful improvements.
