Distribution is the new Master's Degree
My father was the first in his village to earn a formal education. Growing up, he often shared stories of how that degree changed everything for him—how it opened doors, commanded respect, and lifted him out of the life he had known. To him, a master’s degree wasn’t just a piece of paper; it was a badge of honor, the ultimate symbol of success. Even now, despite all I’ve achieved, he still urges me to pursue that degree, believing it’s the surest path to securing a bright future.
But as I reflect on the world today, I can’t help but wonder—what is the master’s degree equivalent now? In a world where knowledge is everywhere, and technology like reasoning automation and AI agents are changing how we work, what holds that same power and prestige?
Distribution—the ability to reach and influence large audiences—has emerged as the new master’s degree. The capacity to share your message widely and effectively is becoming just as crucial as traditional education.
Consider Ashneer Grover. After his success with BharatPe, he saw firsthand the power of distribution when he appeared on Shark Tank India. The platform didn’t just boost his business; it built his personal brand. Ashneer recognized that connecting with a massive audience gave him a level of influence that no degree could provide. His decision to embrace social media and YouTube further amplified his voice, turning him into a recognizable figure across the country.

Contrast that with the thousands of talented professionals and software companies who remain unnoticed because they haven’t mastered distribution. It's not enough to be great at what you do—you need to ensure your ideas are seen, heard, and shared.
Or take Donald Trump in 2016. Regardless of politics, his campaign was a masterstroke in distribution. While others relied on traditional channels, he took his message straight to millions, unfiltered, using social platforms. His ability to control distribution helped him change the rules of the game.
In today’s world, degrees are still valuable, but distribution is where the future lies. As automation redefines industries, the people who will thrive are those who know how to engage audiences, move people, and distribute their ideas effectively. The game has shifted—and so should we.
So, the question is: How are you positioning yourself in this new era of distribution?
