Distributed Algorithms CDT News!
Signal Processing Group and Distributed Algorithms CDT, University of Liverpool
Creating highly trained data scientists and future leaders in distributed algorithms.
The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Distributed Algorithms (DA CDT) aims to train 60 future leaders in?Distributed Algorithms: capitalising on 'Future Computing Systems' to move 'Towards a Data Driven Future'.
Working with our?academic and project partners,?our vision is that DA CDT will produce graduates who can not only develop non-trivial algorithmic solutions but understand how best to apply them to cutting-edge future computing technologies and solve complex multi-disciplinary data challenges.?We are currently working in the fields of Defence, Security and Manufacturing where we believe Distributed Algorithms resonates best.?To view our current cohorts of students and their projects,?please visit our website.
Distributed Algorithms’ vision is building momentum. Last year, the rate at which the PhD students published in top-tier journals and conference papers took a step up. Two PhD students also picked up international awards for their work. We are also starting to see impact result from the students’ and supervisors’ interactions with our partners. It really feels that Distributed Algorithms is beginning to make a difference. These successes, particularly when coupled with the feedback from our partners, help demonstrate that the Distributed Algorithms vision is important and that the training we offer is in demand. The CDT could not achieve its vision without the effort of our academic supervisory teams.
We have two more cohorts to recruit to become our future leaders of Data Science, to develop novel algorithms that can use next-generation computing architectures to solve important real-world problems. ?
